Gregory Charles Jones is a disabled U.S. veteran (50% VA rating) living with lung cancer, based in Troy, Michigan. For two years he has been fighting to reunite with his three children -- Bilal, Jameel, and Maryam -- after Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Yvonna C. Abraham ordered a raid on his home on December 20, 2024, removing all three children and placing them with the same two people the children had just watched commit a strangulation.
Since then, Jones has documented thirteen motions denied, terminated, or suspended by Judge Abraham; filed federal civil-rights lawsuits; and filed a formal complaint with the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission. Multiple licensed clinicians have independently documented that his daughter Maryam, 12, experienced suicidal ideation specifically tied to the prospect of being placed with her mother. He has not seen or heard his son Jameel's voice in approximately a year and a half.
Jones has announced independent, self-funded advocacy campaigns -- for the 2028 Third Circuit Court race and the 2030 Michigan gubernatorial race -- as a platform to bring public attention to the case, not as a conventional political bid. He is not a licensed attorney and cannot appear on a judicial ballot under Michigan law.
