The Bottom Line
Everything else on this site has dates, case numbers, and signed documents attached to it, because I wanted no one to be able to say I made any of it up. This page is different. This page is just the story, told as plainly as I know how, so anyone -- no matter how much time they have -- can understand what one judge did to my family.
Here it is, start to finish.
1. My kids were already hurt once, and the system knew it
Years before any of this, my son Bilal was strangled by his mother. The State of Michigan investigated and confirmed it happened. She was put on the state's official abuse registry. That's not my claim -- that's the government's own finding.
2. It happened again, in front of all three kids
In June 2024, Bilal was strangled a second time -- this time by his mother's boyfriend, while she stood in the room. My other two kids, Jameel and Maryam, watched their brother get choked. I did the thing every parent is supposed to do: I went to court to protect them.
3. The judge said she didn't have to look at the evidence
Judge Yvonna Abraham told me, on the record, that she was "not a mandated reporter" and didn't have to consider my evidence of child abuse. I had the state's own findings in hand. It didn't matter.
4. She tore up the one protection my son had
A protective order existed for my son Jameel against the man who choked his brother in front of him. Judge Abraham ended it herself, ruling that Jameel -- a child who watched his brother get strangled -- "is not the alleged victim." The next day, the man was acquitted; my kids were never even called to testify.
5. The very next day, she sent police to take my kids -- and gave them to the same people
December 20, 2024: Judge Abraham ordered the Wayne County Sheriff to raid my home. Deputies arrested me and took all three children. They were handed over to the same two people my kids had just watched commit a strangulation.
6. I was jailed for six weeks -- with no trial
My "crime" was missing one court date. I was never tried. I sat in a cell for about six weeks, cut off from a phone for the first two and a half of them -- the exact weeks doctors were diagnosing me with lung cancer. I found out I had cancer locked in a cage, unable to call my own kids.
7. My kids were scattered within 48 hours
Bilal was placed in a psychiatric facility less than a day after the raid. Maryam was handed off to my mother the day after that. My son Jameel went somewhere I still can't reach.
8. When the stress gave me a panic attack in her courtroom, she jailed me for that too
At a later hearing, the weight of everything caused me to have a panic attack, right there in front of Judge Abraham. She didn't call for medical help. She had me jailed, mid-panic-attack, without a single medical evaluation.
9. My daughter started telling clinicians she wanted to die -- and named exactly why
Starting in August 2025, Maryam's therapist began documenting, over and over, that Maryam had suicidal thoughts -- and that those thoughts had one specific cause: the possibility of being sent to live with her mother. Not with me. With her mother. By October, her therapist put it in writing that Maryam had thought through a specific plan to hurt herself if that happened, and that she felt safe with me. A second, completely separate mental health agency reached the exact same conclusion two months later.
10. I handed the court that exact warning, marked "Exhibit A" -- and was told to file paperwork
I emailed the judge's courtroom directly, subject line "Suicide," with the therapist's letter attached. I told them I was notifying the court and Child Protective Services. The response I got back was an instruction to file it the normal way, ahead of trial.
11. While I was in the hospital, she took my daughter anyway
On December 1, 2025, I was involuntarily hospitalized -- documented, real, verifiable. I could not attend court, and I had already been denied the accommodation to appear by video. Judge Abraham held the hearing without me, and the order says only that I "failed to appear." It suspended all my parenting time and ordered police to go find Maryam and take her -- after two separate clinicians had already warned the court in writing that this exact move was the one thing putting her life at risk.
12. When I tried to appeal, the system that failed to produce my own transcript used that same failure to throw out my case
I appealed. The Court of Appeals required the hearing transcript. I requested it from Wayne County. It was never produced. My case was dismissed for failing to provide the very document the court itself never gave me.
13. Where things stand
I have not heard my son Jameel's voice in about a year and a half. Not one phone call. Not one visit. I am living with lung cancer and fighting this in federal court, because the state court that was supposed to protect my children instead became the thing I needed protection from.
Why I'm telling you all of this
I'm not asking you to be angry on my behalf. I'm asking you to look at the pattern: evidence ignored, protection removed, a raid ordered the very next day, a documented child suicide risk overruled without a hearing I could attend, and an appeal killed by a paperwork failure that wasn't mine. That's not one bad day in court. That's what happens when one person holds this much power over families with no real check on how she uses it.
That's the whole reason I'm running -- for 3rd Circuit Court Judge in Wayne County in 2028, and for Michigan Governor in 2030. Every document behind this story is posted on this site. I want a system where what happened to Bilal, Jameel, and Maryam can't happen to any other family without someone, somewhere, being required to answer for it.
I've also filed a formal complaint against Judge Abraham with the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission. You can read it, word for word, on its own page here.
